PaDEP Southeast Region

Warehouse Facility, Philadelphia

At this warehouse facility along the west shore of the Delaware River in Philadelphia, Groundwater Sciences Corporation (GSC) completed site characterization and remediation of impacts associated with releases of halogenated solvents, metals, waste oil, and PCBs. Special features of this case included the receipt of a non-use aquifer determination, a Release from Liability for metals in historical fill, and a Release from Liability for impacts of groundwater discharge to surface water. Determinations were also made to satisfy PaDEP concerns regarding transport beneath the river and potential impacts to the Potomac-Raritan-Magothy aquifer in New Jersey. A Release from Liability was received for this site using the Statewide Human Health Standard.
